B2H public meeting planned in Ontario

Oregon state officials have deemed complete Idaho Power’s application for site certificate for the Boardman-to-Hemingway Transmission Line Project.
The B2H 500-kilovolt electrical transmission line is proposed to run from Boardman, Ore., to the Hemingway Butte Substation near Wilson in Owyhee County.
The powerline will be sited on public land in Owyhee County.
In Oregon, the Energy Facility Siting Council will evaluate the site certificate application.
Oregon Dept. of Energy (ODOE) and Idaho Power representatives will answer questions about the project during a series of public information meetings. No public comments will be accepted for the record, though.
The first meeting is scheduled to run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Monday at the Four Rivers Cultural Center, 676 SW 5th Ave., Ontario, Ore. A presentation on the project will start at 5:30 p.m.
Meetings with identical timelines are scheduled in Baker, Ore., on Tuesday; La Grande, Ore., on Wednesday; and Pendleton, Ore., and Boardman, Ore., on Thursday.
The next opportunity for public comment will occur after ODOE issues its Draft Proposed Order, which will address any issues identified by state and local agencies and will include a preliminary evaluation of whether the application meets EFSC standards. There will be formal hearings to allow public comments on the Draft Proposed Order.
